MovNat

MoveNat is a physical education system for developing real world capability through Natural Movement. Natural Movement refers to the full range of motor skills that the human body was designed to perform.  These skills will include walking, running, jumping, balancing, crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, throwing, and catching.  Conditioning involves the physiological adaptations that allow students to perform such skills at a higher level of performance.  This includes strength, power, flexibility, cardio-respiratory and muscular endurance, coordination, timing, balancing, agility, speed, and recovery.

The way MovNat defines, approaches, and practices fitness is entirely geared towards practical physical performance. The system is based on the belief that everyone needs physical competence in their life to develop skills to effectively handle situations requiring a physical response.  Activities may include strength and conditioning training, student designed workouts based on personal goals, obstacle course creation, balance beam work, vaulting, yoga, and mindfulness techniques.  Growth in a wide range of these areas contributes socially, emotionally, physically, and mentally to help develop the whole child.

Physical Education

The physical education program strives to develop skill, participation, good sportsmanship, and a greater knowledge of the various activities and sports. Many activities are offered, from team sports to individual sports that develop skills for play during leisure time, and activities that have a carry-over value to adult life. Growth in a wide range of areas contributes socially, emotionally, physically, and mentally to help develop the whole person.
