Drama (6th and 7th grades)
This course will provide opportunities for students to explore dramatic skills that may include, but not limited to: movement, improvisation, role play, script work, make-up, and costuming.
Theater Performance (8th grade only)
Students will be cast in a full-length play. They will spend the remainder of the semester working on the production in class and preparing for an evening performance in the final month of class. Music may be incorporated. This class builds on skills developed in sixth and seventh grade drama classes. We’ll have a few after school rehearsals along with evening performances.
Stage Tech (8th grade only)
8th Grade students who are seriously interested in the backstage portion of theatre and enjoy working independently behind the scenes will learn about and will creatively work on the following crews for the eighth-grade play or musical: props, costumes, lights, sound, publicity, camera, set design, makeup, and painting. Students must be available for evening performances and possible after-school rehearsals. We’ll have a few after school rehearsals along with evening performances.
