Contact Us
Regular attendance is a key factor in student achievement. We understand it can be difficult to get through in the morning, so you may also report your child's absence via ParentSquare or contact our Attendance office at 719-234-5800 or email us: ctms-attendance@asd20.org.
Attendance Questions & Corrections
Concerns regarding a student’s tardiness or absence should be addressed with the classroom teacher. Attendance records cannot be changed by the attendance office without teacher approval.
Illness
How sick is too sick? Read the latest guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health on our Health Services page.
Late Check-In Procedures
Students who arrive after 8:00 a.m. without an adult to check them in will automatically be marked with an unexcused tardy.
If a student arrives without an adult, parents may request that the tardy be changed to excused by:
Providing a doctor's note
Sending an email to ctms-attendance@asd20.org
If a parent or guardian comes into the office to check the student in, the tardy will be recorded as excused.
Please refer to our school handbook for information regarding accumulated unexcused tardies and attendance expectations.
Student Checkouts
Scheduled Early Checkouts
If your student has an appointment and will need to leave school early, please email the Attendance Office at ctms-attendance@asd20.org on the day of the appointment with your student's name and the time you plan to arrive.
We will do our best to have your student ready. However, always plan to give us time to call your student down. If a student waits in the office for more than 10 minutes, they will be sent back to class until their adult arrives.
After 2:45 p.m.
Student checkouts after 2:45 p.m. are not permitted unless the student is dismissed from the health room. If you need to pick up your student at the end of the day, please plan properly.
ID Required
Anyone picking up a student must present a valid photo ID. This requirement applies to everyone, including siblings.
Authorized Student Pickups
Only individuals listed as guardians in Infinite Campus are automatically authorized to pick up students.
If you would like a neighbor, relative, or other trusted adult to regularly pick up your student for appointments or other routine situations, please complete our:
If you'd like someone else to be authorized to pick up your student, you'll need to fill out and return our Pick Up Authorization form (see “Related Links” on the right side). Once this form is on file, those individuals may pick up your student as authorized.
Third-Party Authorization Forms do not carry over from previous years or other schools. A new form must be submitted each school year, even if the information has not changed.
If a Third-Party Authorization Form is not on file, a parent or guardian must contact the Attendance Office by email at ctms-attendance@asd20.org or by phone each time a non-guardian will be picking up a student.
Emergency contacts are not automatically authorized for routine pickups such as appointments, social plans, or after-school arrangements.
Item Drop-Offs
We understand that students occasionally forget items at home. While we will do our best to deliver dropped-off items, we cannot guarantee delivery timelines due to the volume of requests we receive throughout the day.
Our highest priority is delivering items that directly impact student learning.
If a student is expecting an item and has not received a pass to retrieve it, they may stop by the office during lunch to check whether it has arrived.
Food Deliveries
We do not accept food deliveries from restaurants or third-party delivery services.
Deliveries will be turned away from Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub, restaurants, and similar delivery services. Food deliveries will only be accepted directly from a parent or guardian.
